Bring Back the Butterflies!

The Butterflybom is a seed bomb containing a nectar-rich wildflower seed mix loved by butterflies as well as other pollinating insects. Help to promote butterfly populations.

Contains seeds from 100% UK Native Species of plants.

Seed Mix: Musk Mallow, Birds-foot Trefoil, Yarrow, Oxeye Daisy, Red Campion & Forget-me-not.

Contains species recommended by butterfly conservation as ‘larval food plants’ and includes some annuals for 1st-year impact.

HOW TO GROW:

Pull the pin and throw or drop Seedboms into areas that are in need of brightening up. Seedboms like bare soil, natural light and to be kept damp whilst growing. Full instructions are included on inside of each Seedbom sleeve.

For growth THIS year throw between March - June!

For growth NEXT year throw between August -  October!

LIFECYCLE:

The seed mix in Butterflybom Seedbom contains a mix of plant species that have annual, biennial or perennial lifecycles.

What do these mean? 

Annual – Plants with a life cycle that lasts only one year. They grow from seed, bloom, produce seeds and die in one growing season. They then need to be replanted each spring. Most annuals bloom for a long time and provide beautiful colours from spring through to autumn before dying off.

Biennial – Plants whose life cycle spans two years, they flower and produce seeds in their second year. They grow as green plants their first year, survive the winter and then bloom the following year. After they bloom and produce seeds, biennial plants then die off.

Perennial – Plants that return year after year and continue growing until they reach maturity, which varies by plant but averages three to five years.

Seedboms are made from a 100% compostable bio-based shell containing organic peat-free compost, and wildflower seeds. Their packaging is 100% biodegradable, recyclable, FSC accredited and glue-free.

Seedboms are created in the UK (the shell casings are made in the Netherlands. All other materials are sourced in the UK).
