Small Tortoiseshell Butterfly - Enamel Pin

The Small Tortoiseshell is one of the most widespread and familiar butterflies across Europe. Found in gardens, meadows, and woodland edges, it is easily recognised by its orange and black patterned wings edged with blue crescents. Adults hibernate through the winter in sheltered places, often reappearing on the first warm days of spring, making it one of the earliest butterflies to be seen each year.
